Santa Clarita’s $28M Rink Sports Pavilion Opens Oct. 9

Santa Clarita business owners have a new neighbor to watch closely: The Rink Sports Pavilion, a $28 million, 25,000-square-foot indoor sports venue at 20860 Centre Pointe Pkwy, is set to open with a public grand opening on Friday, October 9, at 2 p.m.

The centerpiece is a 12,000-square-foot convertible floor that functions as a roller skating rink and can be reconfigured for basketball, pickleball, and volleyball throughout the day — a design meant to keep the facility busy from morning youth leagues to evening skate nights. “We have a state-of-the-art facility for roller skating, but we also do, during the day, basketball, pickleball, volleyball. We try to maximize the use of the facility,” said Janine Prado, the city’s Director of Recreation and Community Services.

Beyond the rink itself, the pavilion includes a concession stand called The Wheel, a party and event space, built-in bleachers for spectators, locker rooms, and a skate rental counter. A hallway mural titled the Kaleidoscope Sound Hallway, created by local artist Annette Coleman, adds a distinctly Santa Clarita touch to the space. Construction broke ground in early 2026 and involved more than 40 subcontractors before wrapping up this fall.

For business owners in the surrounding Centre Pointe Parkway corridor, a venue of this size is worth paying attention to. New civic recreation facilities like this one tend to become steady traffic generators — drawing families for birthday parties, youth sports leagues, and weekend events that spill over into nearby restaurants, coffee shops, and retail. Party rentals and after-event dining are an easy win for businesses that get in front of families booking events at the pavilion early.

It’s also a reminder of how much recreation and hospitality infrastructure is expanding across the Santa Clarita Valley this year, alongside ongoing commercial and residential growth in the area. Local businesses that want to capture some of that foot traffic should consider whether their hours, signage, and online listings are ready for the families this new venue will bring through the neighborhood starting next month.
