Hot Chicken Chain Angry Chickz Opens in San Dimas

San Dimas is about to get a lot spicier. Angry Chickz, the Nashville hot chicken brand that got its start in a tiny East Hollywood storefront back in 2018, is opening its newest Southern California location at 1042 W. Gladstone St. in San Dimas on October 16.

For San Gabriel Valley residents who’ve watched the chain’s cult following grow — fueled by crispy, made-to-order tenders, sliders, and bowls served across six heat levels from “Country” all the way up to “Angry” — this marks a notable local milestone. The San Dimas spot will be the brand’s 41st restaurant in California and its 49th nationwide, a sign of just how far the hot chicken trend has carried a business that started with a single 900-square-foot kitchen.

“Southern California is where Angry Chickz started, so every opportunity to grow here is meaningful to us,” said David Mkhitaryan, the company’s CEO and founder, in announcing the opening.

The grand opening comes with the kind of perks that tend to draw a line out the door: the first 100 guests through the doors will receive a limited-edition jersey, and the first 500 can register on-site for a shot at winning free Angry Chickz for an entire year, along with other food prizes. Diners can also sign up for the brand’s app and rewards program to start earning perks right away.

For San Dimas and the broader San Gabriel Valley, new restaurant openings like this one are more than just a place to grab lunch — they’re a small but real economic signal. Every new storefront means new jobs, new foot traffic for neighboring businesses, and another reason for people to choose a local commercial corridor over a drive into downtown LA. Whether it’s a fast-growing franchise or a first-time independent operator, these openings are part of what keeps the Valley’s retail and dining scene competitive.

If you’re a business owner in the area, moments like this are also a good reminder to make sure your own storefront or service is easy to find online — because the same residents excited about a new hot chicken spot are also searching for their next contractor, salon, or local shop.
